Designed by Sergio Bicego for Saba, Land redefines contemporary seating through a sense of grounding and protection. Its low, expansive volumes welcome the body while reshaping the way interiors are inhabited—fluid, adaptable, and deeply personal.

Equally compelling as a standalone statement or a modular composition, Land transforms the geography of a room with quiet authority.

Reclaiming the floor and creating volumes that offer a sense of protection served as the guiding inspiration behind Land.

The design language unfolds through a generously padded base resting lightly on a slender metal frame. This foundation evolves upward into distinctive back panels, where architectural clarity meets a refined sartorial sensibility. The result is a sofa that feels both grounded and nomadic—anchored yet perpetually adaptable.

Its strong personality allows Land to command attention while remaining open to reinterpretation, moment after moment.

Structure & Padding

• Load-bearing structure in wood, padded with 30IP polyurethane foam.

• Optionally can be wrapped in Velfodera lining material and 150 g/sqm polyester fiber

• Back cushion supports, arm cushions, and armrest roll structures in painted metal, upholstered in fabric or padded braided fabric coupled with 300 g/sqm pressed strip

• Seat cushions in variable-density polyurethane foam (40IP and memory), topped with 100% polyester fiber, encased in cotton fabric

• Back and arm cushions filled with 100% polyester fibre, sectioned for shape retention, covered in white cotton fabric

• Roll armrest padded in 30IP polyurethane foam, wrapped in cotton lining with 380 g/sqm polyester fiber

• Square armrest cushion with silicone microfiber (100% polyester), quilted and sectioned for softness and structure

Feet

• Painted wire-drawn steel, height 3 cm, visually light yet structurally precise

Customization & Modularity

Land retains its nomadic nature through a highly intuitive modular system.

• Back panels attach via a flexible system that allows seating positions to be easily changed

• Individual back panels can be rearranged freely, adapting to evolving needs and social moments

• Configurable as a single sculptural element or an expansive modular landscape

• Removable side surfaces function as practical supports near the seat and can be inserted on all four sides

This freedom of composition allows Land to continuously reinvent the space it inhabits—personal, creative, and dynamic.
