Formula Chair is the result of the challenge Eero Aarnio has had in mind for years: to combine the sculptural elements of his early fiberglass designs with the ergonomic solutions for comfortable sitting which are the most important aspects in his work on office chairs. The Formula Chair, Eero Aarnio says, is to be one of the best chairs he has ever designed. Slightly rocking back and forwards it is a perfect chair for relaxing with a refreshing drink after a long day. An absolutely fun and wonderful addition to bedrooms, living areas, play rooms and outdoors.

Always interested in learning about new ways of manufacturing and seeing, if they are appropriate to realize his ideas in designing - a maximum liberty of formation. So he found plastic (in this case MDPE medium density polyethylene) which offers mostly the same qualities as fibreglass, but much cheaper in production getting a high quality product.
